Fashion
Vietnam is the world's second-largest garment and footwear exporter after China, and Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia add strong textile and accessory bases. This category lists over 400 apparel, footwear and accessory products — from custom-print cotton polos to canvas sneakers — from more than 170 suppliers, most of them cut-make-trim (CMT) or full-package (FOB) factories.
Garments, Footwear and Fashion from Southeast Asia
What fashion products can I source from Southeast Asia?
Knitwear and woven garments (polos, T-shirts, jackets, uniforms), footwear (canvas, sports, leather), bags and accessories. Vietnam supplies most listings, with Thailand strong in premium knits and Indonesia in batik and woven textiles.
What is the MOQ for garments and footwear?
Typically 300–500 pieces per style, often split across sizes and 2–3 colours; footwear 300 pairs per style. Stock designs can go lower; private-label with custom trims usually needs 1,000+ pieces to be worth a factory's line time. Some smaller workshops accept 100–200 pieces at a higher unit price.
Which certifications and audits should garment factories have?
Social compliance audits (BSCI, SMETA/Sedex, WRAP) are the ones brands ask for first; OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and GOTS for material safety and organic cotton; ISO 9001 for quality systems. Ask for the audit report date and scope — a factory audited in one building may subcontract to another.
How long is the lead time for a garment order from Vietnam?
Sampling 2–3 weeks, bulk production 45–90 days after sample approval and fabric booking, plus 3–5 weeks sea freight to Europe or the US East Coast. Fabric availability is the usual bottleneck; ask whether the fabric is in stock or must be knitted/dyed to order. Read How to import garments and textiles from Vietnam.
How do I protect my payment on a garment order?
Pay a deposit into escrow for fabric and trims, and the balance on an inspection report against your approved sample. Agree the AQL level (2.5 is common for apparel) in writing before production starts — see How B2B escrow protects your payment.
