What fruit is available and from where?
Vietnam: dragon fruit (red and white flesh), Cát Hòa Lộc mango, Ri6 durian, longan and lychee in season. Thailand: Monthong durian, mangosteen, coconut. Malaysia: Musang King durian, mostly IQF frozen. The Philippines: bananas, pineapple, calamansi. Indonesia and Cambodia: mango, banana, cashew apple products.
What is the MOQ for fresh and frozen fruit?
Fresh fruit is quoted per kilogram with MOQs of 200–500 kg for air freight and full pallets or reefer containers (10–20 tons) by sea. Frozen (IQF) fruit and pulp usually start at 1 ton. Dried fruit and chips ship in cartons with MOQs of a few hundred cartons.
When is each fruit in season?
Seasonality drives both price and availability: Vietnamese lychee peaks May–June, longan July–September, durian year-round in the south with peaks May–August; Thai durian April–August; Malaysian Musang King June–August and November–January. See our fruit export season calendar.
Which certificates do fruit exporters need?
A phytosanitary certificate from the exporting country's plant-protection authority is mandatory; GlobalG.A.P. or VietGAP/ThaiGAP for retail buyers; packing-house registration codes for markets such as China, the US, Japan and Korea, which require approved orchards and packing houses. Ask whether the exporter's packing house is registered for your specific market.
How do I handle cold chain and shelf life?
Fresh tropical fruit has a shelf life of days to a few weeks, so confirm pre-cooling, packing temperature and the forwarder's reefer booking before you pay. Frozen fruit is far more forgiving — a good first product if your logistics are unproven. Use escrow with release on delivery inspection.
