HACCP is mandatory; look for BRCGS or IFS for retail, BAP or ASC for farmed shrimp and pangasius, MSC for wild catch, and the EU-approved establishment number (EU code) if you import into Europe. Halal certification matters for Middle East and Malaysian buyers. Verify the EU code on the European Commission's list rather than trusting a PDF.

How do I check glazing and net weight on frozen seafood?

Specify glazing percentage (10 % vs 20 % changes your real cost noticeably), net weight per block, size grade (count per kg or per lb) and treatment (with or without phosphate) in the purchase order.
