Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam

The Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IP Vietnam; international transaction name "National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam", NOIP), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, was established 29 July 1982 (Decree 125/HDBT, originally the Patents Office; renamed the Industrial Property Office in 1993, then the Intellectual Property Office in 2003). It administers patents, industrial designs, trademarks, geographical indications, and integrated-circuit layout designs -- state functions relevant to ensuring exported/imported goods do not infringe IP rights in the destination market.
